No. The only parts that touch your phone are soft TPU pads. Wipe sand or grit off the phone edge before inserting, as you would for any case.

Yes. Measure phone plus case; anything up to 12.5 mm total fits. Screen protectors and raised-lip cases are usually fine. If a thick lip catches, go one adapter size up.

Twist one half 180 degrees so the two sides mirror each other (the parts click into position), rotate the legs 90 degrees to the base, and insert your phone. Camera facing down: bring the phone in at a vertical angle, edge first. Camera facing up: come in at a steep angle, rim into the adapters first, then roll the phone upward. Hold the tripod with one hand so the legs do not collapse, keep the phone centred and parallel to the legs, and never force it; the fit should be snug. The video guide shows both moves.

Push the adapter where the manual shows and rotate it 180 degrees to remove it; insert the next size from the side shown and rotate 180 degrees until its edges sit flush with the leg. Keep the spare sizes in the box's organizer. Sizes are engraved on the adapters, in half-millimetre steps. Before sliding the tripod back into a wallet, line the adapters up flush with the legs.

Measure with the Fit Card. If the phone feels loose, go down 0.5 mm. If it is hard to insert, go up 0.5 mm. Snug is right; forced is a size too small. Common phone-and-case combinations are listed on our approximate adapter sizes page.

Adapters can be installed two ways. PRO orientation, with the size engraving toward the 1/4 inch-20 side, gives the full 105 degree tilt and a firmer hold. Legacy orientation mirrors older kits and tilts through a shorter range. The MAX stoppers differ between the two, so never force the tilt past a stop.

Yes, by design. Twist one half 90 degrees, then pull the halves apart for a wider, lower stance along one phone edge; for the steadiest setup put the base parts on the inside and the leg parts on the outside. To reconnect, hold the halves at 90 degrees to each other, seat the hinge and push the pin fully in. Do not bend the halves against the hinge.

Downward: hold the tripod steady with one hand and tilt the phone down with the other. Upward: hold the phone with both hands and rotate your wrists, keeping steady pressure toward the base so the phone does not slip out of the adapters. Tilt is continuous through 105 degrees and holds wherever you leave it; stoppers mark the MAX in each direction, so never force the phone past a stop.

Read the angle indicator when you find an angle you like and set it there next time. Tilt holds wherever you leave it.

Yes, if the app treats volume-up as the shutter, which most do. If an app maps volume to zoom or exposure, change that in the app's settings.

It does exactly what volume-up does in your camera app. On iPhone, a long press of volume-up can trigger burst or QuickTake video depending on your settings.

Go down one adapter size (0.5 mm) for a firmer grip. If it now feels hard to insert, the size in between is right; email us and we send it free.

Guide the case lip in first, at an angle. If it still needs force, go up one adapter size (0.5 mm). Forcing a phone in is how adapters crack.

We replace it free under the limited lifetime warranty. A crack usually means the adapter was a size too small for the phone, especially if both sides show it. Move up 0.5 mm (for example 11.0 to 11.5 mm) to take the stress off.

By design, they separate rather than break. Hold them at 90 degrees to each other, seat the hinge, and push the pin fully in. Do not bend the halves against the hinge.

Email hello@geometrical-inc.com with a photo and your shipping address and we send a replacement. The illustrated manual shows reassembly. Prevention: never bend the two halves against the hinge and never force the tilt past a MAX stop.

Check that the phone's mass sits inside the footprint, that the adapters are in PRO orientation, and that the phone is not over the weight a portrait angle above 45 degrees can hold. If it still drifts, email us.

Grit in the rails. Wipe them out, dry, and work the joints a few times. Check the adapters are flush with the legs: press them in with your fingers or push the edge gently against a table to line them up.

Rebalance so the centre of mass sits inside the base, widen the stance by separating the halves, and use landscape for steep angles with a large phone.

Rinse the parts in fresh water for a few minutes, shake out the debris, dry fully, and cycle the joints. No lubricant; keep it clean and dry.

Wipe dry or slightly damp and keep grit out of the rails. Avoid solvents and heat. It needs no lubrication.

Switch the remote off and on, then your phone's Bluetooth off and on. If it paired before, Forget it and pair again. A dim LED means the CR2016 cell needs replacing.

Open your phone's own camera app first. If a third-party app maps volume-up to zoom or exposure, switch that setting to shutter.

Rated range is 10 m (33 ft) with line of sight. Move closer, remove obstacles, keep phone and remote on the same side of your body, or replace the cell.

The BackerKit reward survey closed on August 22, 2026, so there is no longer a survey link to find or to re-send. Send one email to hello@geometrical-inc.com with the subject line Kickstarter reward and include:

• the name on your Kickstarter account;
• the email address you used on Kickstarter, plus a working email if that one is an Apple “Hide My Email” address;
• your backer number if you have it (it is in your Kickstarter pledge confirmation; optional);
• your shipping address and the color you would like.

We look up your pledge and reply with store credit for the value of your reward. You place the order here like any customer, choosing your color and fit, and it ships like any other order: from North Carolina for North America, direct from the factory for everywhere else.

Rewards shipped only to backers who completed the BackerKit survey we sent in December 2024. The survey built into Kickstarter turned out to be too limited: it could not take address changes, add-ons or a switch to the April colors, so we moved everyone to BackerKit, and only those answers were used to ship. About 600 backers never saw that survey, most often because their Kickstarter account used a private Apple relay email that our messages could not reach. Nothing is lost: your pledge is on file, and the email above is all it takes.

Yes, and it is the single most common reason a reward did not ship. Private relay addresses did not pass our survey emails through, so those backers never saw the BackerKit survey and we had no working address for them. The fix is one email: write to hello@geometrical-inc.com from a regular address with your Kickstarter name, and we sort it out from there.

Both mean the same thing now: the BackerKit survey closed on August 22, 2026 and is no longer the way we resolve rewards. Email hello@geometrical-inc.com with your Kickstarter name and we take it from there.

Add-ons were charged separately through the survey, and a few of those payments did not go through, so the tripod shipped and the add-on waited. Email us and we check your pledge; if an add-on is still outstanding we tell you exactly what is open and how to settle it, or fold it into your store credit.

If your reward has not shipped, email us your new address and it ships there. If it shipped to the old address and never reached you, see the tracking answer above: we re-ship.

Yes, if your reward has not shipped: tell us the color you want in your email. With store credit you choose color and fit on the product page yourself. If your tripod has already arrived and your phone needs an adapter size you do not have, the Right-Size Guarantee sends it free; the Slim Fit kit now covers thin phones and foldables down to 5.5 mm.

We would much rather get you the tripod you backed. If you have waited long enough and would prefer your pledge refunded instead, say so in your email and we will arrange it.

Email. Kickstarter messages are read too, but email carries the details we need to act in one reply, and it is where the store credit arrives. Replies come from hello@geometrical-inc.com within 12 business hours; if you do not see one, check your spam folder.

Email us with your Kickstarter name or backer number and we check the tracking. The usual causes: the parcel was returned because the address could not be delivered, a split order was marked shipped by mistake, or the tracking page went blank (USPS tracking disappears about six months after delivery). If it did not reach you, we re-ship at no cost, from North Carolina for North America and direct from the factory for everywhere else.

A few early international parcels were handed to a last-mile carrier that returned them, and a handful of addresses bounced. Reply to the tracking email you received, or write to hello@geometrical-inc.com with your current address, and we create a new shipment at no cost to you.

Some countries require a personal ID number before a parcel can clear customs: Mexico’s RFC, Brazil’s CPF, South Korea’s PCCC and a few others. If you received an email asking for one, reply with the number; the carrier cannot release the parcel without it. Not sure what your country needs? Ask us in the same email.

Kickstarter did not collect US sales tax, so the survey did it where we are obliged to: CA, FL, GA, HI, IA, IL, MD, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OH, TX and UT, usually a couple of dollars. International rewards carried the shipping fee from your pledge tier. During the Canada Post strike in December 2024 we offered Canadians an optional paid UPS upgrade from North Carolina; anyone who waited was shipped at no extra cost once Canada Post resumed.

Yes. Every Pocket Tripod PROv2, reward or retail, carries the same limited lifetime warranty against defects or wear from normal use, and the shutter remote a 1-year limited warranty. The door is deliberately snug so it cannot slide open in a pocket or on a keyring; a fingernail at the seam opens it. If yours has come off or gone missing, email hello@geometrical-inc.com and we fix or replace the remote under its warranty.

The first printed manuals went to press before the threaded insert was final, so the anatomy page does not show it; the step-by-step pages are otherwise current. If the tripod itself has no brass insert in the base, you received an older unit by mistake. Email hello@geometrical-inc.com with a photo and we send a PROv2.

Six colors added during the campaign as a second reward tier: Blood Red, Oyster Grey, Sage Green, Alien Blue, Lava Orange and Summit Yellow. The five classic colors (Matte Black, Panda White, Jasper Green, Thunder Pink and Magma Red) shipped from December 2024; the April colors needed their own production run, which finished later than planned, and they shipped in late May and June 2025. All eleven colors are now in stock on the product page.

The campaign closed on November 29, 2024, late pledges have ended and the campaign shop at geometrical.shop has been retired. The PROv2 is sold here in all eleven colors and two fits, shipping from North Carolina or direct from the factory, and on Amazon in the US, UK, Canada and Australia.
