PROv2

A phone stand that lives in a wallet.

Background

The camera moved into the pocket. The tripod moved into the drawer.

We carry the most advanced cameras in our pockets every day. Our tripods should meet the same level of convenience and function.

Design brief
As easy to carry as two bank cards
Make a tripod replacement that’s always with you, because it isn’t “one more thing to carry”
How it works

Twist. Flip. Place.

A flat card becomes a phone tripod in under three seconds.

01Twist 180°
Rotate one half to mirror the other.
02Flip 90°
Rotate the legs to form the stand.
03Place the phone
Slide the phone in and tilt it to the desired angle.
Step 1: one half of the red Pocket Tripod PROv2 card twisted 180 degrees
Step 2: the legs flipped 90 degrees to form the stand
Step 3: a phone placed between the Adapters and tilted to an angle
How it works
105°

Step-less tilt, held by friction.

The Adapters grip the phone between two soft TPU pads and ride along a curved track in each leg. Tilt the phone and it stays where you let go. There’s nothing to tighten and no notches to click through.

Rails are spring-loaded to maintain the desired contact force and friction.

The rail tracks are made of POM, an engineered self-lubricating polymer, so the tilt action still feels the same, years later.

What it can do

Holds your phone
where you want it.

No more hunting for a rock or a water bottle to lean your phone on. Set it on a ledge, a slope or a tripod, at the angle you want.

Flat surfaces: optional.
1Separable legs adjust independently to compensate for uneven surfaces.
2Foldable phones gain a second axis of rotation when held by their other edge.
3¼″-20 threads enable mounting on tripods, sliders and other camera gear.
4Points up so the rear cameras can aim at upward angles.
5Points down so you can see the screen, for video calls or watching a show.

How it fits

Fits by thickness, not by model.

Adapters match the thickness of the phone plus its case, in 0.5 mm steps.

A new phone or case? Swap the Adapters and keep the tripod.
The Fit Card tells you which Adapters fit your phone and case. Flip it over and it’s an 18% gray card for setting white balance.

1/4″-20 Mounting Threads

Works with the camera gear you already own.

The Pocket Tripod PROv2 is also a wallet-size phone clamp with 1/4″-20 connectors and built-in tilt adjustment.

The connectors are made of machined brass that are nickel-plated in a secondary process. They are placed in the mold before the polymer is injected, embedding them seamlessly into the parts.

Adds up to 360° of tilt with no bulk.
Perfect for tight spaces.
While mounted on the 1/4″ threads, the Pocket Tripod can hold a phone on any of its edges, facing either way. Stacking four sweeps of roughly 90° for a total of up to 360 degrees of tilt adjustment.

Generations

Five generations.
Same wallet profile.

Although its shape may look deceptively simple, the Pocket Tripod’s design has gone through extensive upgrades over the years. One thing has always stayed the same: its ability to fit in a wallet.

Because of its complexity and extremely tight tolerances, many manufacturers in Canada and the United States declined to take on the project. Finally, after hundreds of 3D-printed prototypes and meetings with dozens of manufacturers, we found one willing to build the first generation. Even then, it took plenty of trial and error with different polymers and tolerances to get the fit and function right.

Thanks to funding from thousands of Kickstarter backers, we were able to produce that first generation and continue improving it over the years. Customer feedback helped shape each generation that followed.

In 2026, we launched our most comprehensive version yet: the fifth-generation Pocket Tripod. Along with visible improvements, including six new Adapter sizes, we made changes you can’t see, such as post-process annealing to relieve internal stresses.
